Dear Diary,
It was like pretty much the most exciting moment of my life when we were all at Life Network. We had some totally amazing team building like before we even left! We found like the coolest foam blocks EVER, and we all built different stuff and it was so cool because we like each have such different styles, like some people are all symmetrical, and other people are like totally eclectic (my vocabulary word J!) Then we like got split up into different cars, and that’s always like the most intense part, because like what if you end up in a car with your future spouse and you totally don’t know it! I mean, it could change your life!
So guys are like officially the weirdest species ever. They pretty much don’t even know how to talk! They just totally sit there and make noises. I have to keep reminding myself that like Jane Austen totally could not have made Mr. Darcy up out of her head.
So the leaders made us wear like the ugliest clothes ever for the 70’s dance. I totally hated my hair! Then one of the girls wanted a ribbon so she could do hers the same way, and I totally had an extra because I loved my hair and knew that someone else would too! Amy’s costume, oh my gosh I totally need one for like the rest of my life.
I like totally feel like we’re so close as a team and like getting along with everyone else and it’s like awesome. I can’t wait for tomorrow!

Dear Diary,
So I don’t even want to see anyone on this team ever again! I don’t even like them that much! Oh my gosh, we had to play this game where we had to drink like 2 billion cups of water, and oh my gosh I had to pee so bad and everyone was like totally not even talking to each other! One of the other girls totally went to the bathroom BY HERSELF, she like didn’t even ask if anyone else wanted to come! And when she came out, she had so been crying, and I like asked her what was wrong, and she totally didn’t even want to talk about it! Like, I don’t even think we’re a team anymore!
~ Saturday evening:
So today was honestly like the best day of my life! Oh my gosh I love everyone here! The girls like got together and talked about this morning, and got like matching pinecones to carry in our purses and we’re all like totally best friends forever! It was awesome.
We like did the high ropes course and it was so scary oh my gosh I almost died. I honestly thought I was going to fall off this log like 200 feet in the air, and then I totally did and the rope like caught me! It pretty much changed my life!
We had this amazing talk during the evening session between girls and guys and oh my gosh I think I totally understand them! They are like all macho and cool on the outside, but on the inside, like we totally already knew, they really just want to talk. And they are like so romantic too! Oh my gosh they said something about a carriage ride!
Then we watched some movie about this big shark and oh my gosh it was scary! Like a billion people died, and it was really gross, and then oh my gosh this guy with weird glasses like totally blew it up, but he didn’t even like kiss his wife at the end!

Dear Diary,
I don’t even know what to do with the rest of my life, the retreat’s over. It was so cool this morning, we talked about how guys want us to ask them what’s wrong and we were like yah, uh-huh you know and oh my gosh we totally knew what we were saying!
This weekend like totally changed my life. I am so looking for my soul mate, he’s like definitely going to be like the coolest person ever, and now I know pretty much what to look for. Oh my gosh, everyone is like my best friend EVER… I don’t think we could ever have like a fight or anything! We’re that close. I can’t wait for next year!
Love and hugs,
Ginny Girly

From a sticky note found in Joe Guy’s dryer:
15th- the retreat was fun because we got to throw foam blocks at each other before we left Life Network. Then we got to play basketball until dinner. Dinner was good and we ate a lot. Then at the session we learned about how it’s really fun for girls to talk. Then we danced which was fun because I got to wear weird hair and there were lots of glow sticks.
On Saturday we ate breakfast, which was good, then we listened to the girls talk some more, then we played this game called Bladder Ball which didn’t work but we got stuck climbing the backstop and that was cool. We played Ultimate, too. Then we threw pinecones at people while they did the high ropes course, and Mark found this challenge that wasn’t a challenge after all, but it was cool anyway. We all got hurt doing it. Then John fell off the zip line, and that was cool too. Then the girls got mad during a session and yelled about how guys need to communicate, but they were all talking so we didn’t try. Then we went swimming even though it was really cold outside, and we did some Samurai Chicken Fighting. Then we watched Jaws which was really fake and we weren’t scared. But then there was this sweet explosion and the shark blew up and there was a lot of blood. I liked it.
On Sunday we ate some more breakfast, then we went to the last session and got yelled at by people who think we’re their soul mates or something, then we ate lunch. Then we beat each other up while we were supposed to be packing. Then we left. It was cool.
